Uranium is an element whose time has come -- again.  With the well-intentioned but ultimately misguided efforts of the environmental movement of the 1970's, an entire industry was virtually rolled up in moth balls and stowed away.  As a result, "dirty" fossil fuel industries took on new life and have been responsible for a creeping environmental disaster that knows no geographical bounds.  The time for a well regulated nuclear power industry is now. This makes sense on many levels, excluding possibly a human emotional one.  Education is the way to clear this hurdle and replace fear with progress.

Uranium companies such as Cameco, Uranium One and Dennison Mines are leading producers of u308 (or uranium). There are also several smaller uranium development and uranium exploration companies worthy of investment consideration. But in the world of uranium exploration, there are also many would-be uranium companies that will never actually produce uranium or lay claims to property with economically viable uranium deposits. In short, uranium is a good story and it is a sector that is worth of investment consideration, but investors must carefully consider their uranium choices. Holding producer like Cameco, Uranium One and Dennison should provide good long term returns, but again, in the uranium sector, volatility is to be expected.
