Newell's illustration of Alice surrounded by the characters of
Wonderland. (1890) "Go
for it Gary... you are good, a great read and you have a unique
voice so count me in"
--Jon A (Managing Director, International
Brokerage Firm, NYC) 9/25/08 "I
like your letter because it IS reputable and broad enough to provide
good ideas for research and consideration... I'll be an ongoing
reader because I consider your stuff head and shoulders better than
any other letter I've used, and there have been a few. Going
through them was expensive, but a lesson in itself."
--Doug T 11/11/08 After
years of successfully navigating financial markets in both bullish
and bearish modes, while providing grounded commentary and analysis
that has been much more often than not on the right side of the
macro trade, I am pleased to present the weekly newsletter, Notes
From the Rabbit Hole (NFTRH). You may review the sample issues
(see left side bar) for an idea of how I
operate, although you can anticipate evolution as I settle in and
get comfortable. NFTRH
is geared toward seasoned investors and traders as well as novice
investors in the learning stages. Be aware that the very
origins of Biiwii.com are rooted
in hype aversion and anti-convention. I believe that 'in the
box' thinking has caused many people to get in trouble as of this
writing (NFTRH official launch 10/1/08). This is evidenced by
the fact that Biiwii.com (but it is what it is) was launched in 2004 with
its very first commentaries warning of the dangers so outwardly
apparent now. Do not expect the usual stock pick touts and
chirping about performance. Risk management plays as important
a role as capital appreciation over the long term. The
name of the letter implies a view from a different perspective
which, in my case began to take hold in 2002 and intensified through
the 2005 time frame. Various people I have met and interacted
with along the way have added immeasurably to my natural ability to
separate b/s from useful nuggets. They are the ones I like to
think of fondly as 'the strange characters I have met down in the
rabbit hole'. Some were financial professionals. Others
just very smart out of the box thinkers. Just
as I am weary of over-bullish hype in good times, I seek to remain
calm and free of panic in crisis. This means taking the cards
that are dealt and making the best hand possible given the
circumstances and given a comfort level with the ongoing interplay
between inflation and deflation dynamics that is at the heart of
boom and bust cycles. While some may be crying 'end of the
world' I would be happy if you join me in trying to divine the new
normalcy, whatever that will be. November
1, 2008: NFTRH's first month in existence has been the
ultimate challenge, coinciding with historic market and economic
events. The first several NFTRH issues will be posted to the left as
samples so that you may make an evaluation of the service in the
most trying of times. I look forward however, to getting back
on track with profits and risk management in a more normalized
environment, post panic. While this will never be a trading
jock letter, I have been known to trade and take profits in certain
environments. ;-) NFTRH
Vitals Weekly
letter emailed in pdf format (Mac users may need to use Adobe
Acrobat Reader instead of Apple's 'Preview'. I use Nitro
PDF Professional software) by Sunday afternoon (US Eastern time) at
the latest and usually by Saturday evening / Sunday morning. Occasional
interim alerts or updates as events dictate. These will
typically come in the form of a brief email. Monthly

Monthly billing allows the subscriber to cancel without a yearly
commitment and lets me know that current subscribers perceive good
value for their ongoing subscription. Yearly
billing now available for subscribers who would rather not renew
monthly. The yearly rate is a 7.5% discount ($288) from
the $312 annual total of the monthly option. NFTRH

Layout Weekly
review of the current situation in the macro-financial world
and/or a look at the week ahead. Technical
analysis on markets of interest from an investment or trading
point of view along with a look at the vital indicators to
those markets and important macro 'signposts' such as gold v.
asset ratios, currencies and bonds. Relevant
individual stocks will be highlighted as I find interesting
situations with technical analysis and a brief fundamental
overview. Once per month an individual stock will be
featured with a full fundamental write up by my colleague, a
professional equities analyst and proprietor of the popular blog Inca
Kola News. Composition
of personal portfolios that I manage. One is geared for
trading, speculation and investment while the other is geared for
safety, risk management and investment. I will update the
percentage performance of the portfolios weekly with the starting
values being those at NFTRH launch date, October 1, 2008. The
portfolios will be identified by asset class as opposed to
individual equities or holdings although I will likely mention some
holdings in ongoing commentary. Personal
Philosophy You
should know that I do not take the responsibility of providing opinion and analysis to readers lightly. In fact I
take it is an awesome responsibility and will do my best to provide
you with a quality product and an open minded viewpoint. The
individual who started Biiwii.com
as an antidote for rampant 'casino' mentality is who I am. The
individual who started a blog
to more effectively convey 'out of the box' ideas is who I am.
Notes From the
Rabbit Hole is an extension of this mindset as I formalize and
expand on these themes. I thank you for
having the trust and confidence in me to take the next step. You
